In response to the network issues originating at our data center provider, we've made some changes to our network configuration that circumvent the immediate problems. Since 20:53 UTC, our systems are fully available to end users again, after a downtime of approximately 60 minutes.
We currently bringing all of our internal systems back up and are monitoring the health of the system closely, So far, everything seems to work fine again.
This outage accidentally happened on the same day we announce a maintenance window. The maintenance was unrelated to this outage and has been aborted. We will re-schedule the planned maintenance after we gathered all required information.
We want to deeply apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you.
We have rolled out a temporary fix which should bring pretix back online any moment now.
While we cannot say 100% for sure, signs point towards a major outage at our datacenter Hetzner despite them not having posted yet an announcement.
Upon contacting the datacenter's NOC, we have been told that they are aware of a possible issue and their admins are looking into the issue.
We are aware of the current outage and are still investigating the issue.
At this point, we assume that the underlying network is experiencing degradation which in turn is impacting the availability of all services. We can however confirm that this outage is not related to the announced maintenance window, as this outage occurred before the planned maintenance even started.

Ticket ordering processPlanned maintenance
We're currently performing planned maintenance to our system to roll out new functionality.
We've completed our software update. Unfortunately, even though we tested the process carefully earlier today, not everything went entirely according to plan and there were two short periods of less than 5 minutes in which some users were seeing intermittent errors while purchasing their ticket. In both periods, less than 70 people were affected and as far as we can tell it was possible to continue with the order as soon as the short period was over. We apologize for this inconvenience. Orders are coming in at regular rates right now and everything seems to be working fine, but we'll continue monitoring the system for a bit, just to be safe.
